Daisies Yoga

Last week I had a GREAT time teaching yoga to a group of 11 Daisies!  Each time I teach a new group of kids, I learn things myself.  They always come up with new poses and new ways of looking at things. I love the fresh ideas!  I have yet to find a kid that does not enjoy yoga.  These girls were no exception!

Here is the group in Downward Dog!  They are naturals at it!

Here we are making a zipper with our bodies!  Each time one of the girls giggled, their bellies made the other girls head bounce up and down and the giggles continued up and down the chain just like a zipper!  So much fun!!  :-)

Here is a bunch of little cobras stretching their faces towards the warm sun!  Their little spines are so flexible (unlike mine).  ;-)

This coming week I am looking forward to teaching another group of Daisies on Tuesday night!  Can't wait!!

First Presbyterian Church Youth Club Yoga Night

This past Tuesday night I had the privilege of teaching yoga to about 55 first through 5 graders.  I truly enjoyed teaching these kids.  We started out discussing what yoga is and what the benefits of doing yoga are.  We started with Sun Salutations and went on to learning a majority of the basic poses.  We played Yoga Ball and ended in Shavasana (the pose of rest).  Remarkably, Shavasana was their favorite part.  All of the kids, with the exception of maybe 2, laid still on the floor for 5+ minutes and were able to relax.  I talked them through a meditation sequence and I believe they were all able to let go and quiet their minds.  Here is a picture of the Yoga Ball I made!  My kids love it and so did the Youth Club kids at my church.

The kids passed the ball and whichever pose was closest to their right thumb was the pose we all did in the circle.  Lots of fun!

If you would like to have me come and do yoga for your group or organization, you can contact via email at stacy.daniels9@gmail.com .

Namaste!
